Miguel Torres founded Queery NC out of a personal desire to build safe, meaningful, and accessible community spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals outside of traditional nightlife and dating apps. What began as a local Discord server connecting fellow "gaymers" and geeks quickly evolved into a dedicated non-profit focused on facilitating socializing and belonging through hobby and skills-focused events.

Miguel brings a lifelong passion for community organizing to Queery NC, with a track record that includes founding high school and collegiate gaming organizations—such as the UNCG Gaming and E-Sports Club—running fighting game competitions, and leading Rivals College, a large competitive community for Marvel Rivals.

As Executive Director, Miguel is dedicated to growing Queery NC into a vibrant hub where LGBTQ+ individuals can discover communities aligned with their interests while accessing empowering resources, skills, and knowledge.
